(ATOKA COUNTY, Okla.) A 20-year-old man is dead after trying to swim across Dolese’s Rock Quarry, eight miles outside of Caney. Troopers said Elijah Moore of Durant drowned Saturday afternoon. We’re told Moore made it 300 yards across the 400-yard rock quarry before going under. He did not resurface. His body was recovered later that evening by Lake Patrol.
