Nathan Hart Takes Helm of AICCO, Lays Out Vision for 2026
Native Commerce News is sponsored by the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma (AICCO), dedicated to expanding Indian Country commerce across the globe.
(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma (AICCO) is heading into 2026 with new state leadership.
Nathan Hart will serve as president, Les McGee will serve as vice president, Amber Sharp will serve as secretary, and Katera Snelling will serve as treasurer. Angie Reeves and Julie Aldridge were also elected to serve on the state board.
A Cheyenne businessman and artist with more than 30 years in tribal relations, economic development, and leadership, Hart has served AICCO previously in various roles such as state and Oklahoma City chapter treasurer and chapter president and vice-president.
“I’m truly honored to be selected as president,” said Hart. “I know it’s a huge responsibility and I commit to doing the best I can with my abilities.”
Hart says he hopes to see AICCO expand relationships and increase collaboration with other minority chambers in 2026.
AICCO’s Oklahoma City Chapter has previously collaborated with The Black Chamber of Commerce, The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Asian Chamber of Commerce.
“We meet regularly and we come together to look at what we have in common, what we can promote that’s very beneficial to our members and people in the community,” said Hart. “I’m hoping to see that expand up to a state level so that when we look at other chambers of commerce throughout the state and even chambers in other states, we can see what we have in common and we can coordinate programs to benefit everybody.”
Hart also said that the board will look for opportunities to expand AICCO’s impact and continue to be an advocate for Native businesses, which may include additional chapters.
“We have requests to expand our footprint, “said Hart. “We have people in the communities in the North Central part of the state that would like to form a chapter. We’ve had requests to form a chapter in the Southwest part of the state.”
However, Hart noted that growth will have to take place at a sustainable pace.
“We’ve had some tremendous growth here over the past several years,” said Hart. “The board and the membership are flowing great ideas up to us. There’s a lot that we would like to do, but we have to realize, we’re a volunteer board and we take small steps in our development and our progress.”
Hart also reflected on what he believes is a strength of AICCO’s board as a whole.
“We’re very fortunate to have a board that is diverse,” said Hart. “We are in the areas of health, small business, and the financial sector. Tribal government elected representatives are on the board. We’re in gaming and there are people that have leadership advocate roles within their businesses.”
The Board is currently finalizing plans for The Gathering 2026, which is scheduled to take place at River Spirit Casino and Resort in Tulsa from August 30 to September 3.
Details for Leadership Native Oklahoma are also still being finalized, but applications are open for the class of 2026.
More details for both of these programs will be released in early 2026.
