National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) announces digitization of UFO records

(NATIONAL) The sighting of a potential Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) can spark a lot of discussion, interest, and questions in a community.

The US government started keeping records about UFO’s decades ago.

Recently, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) announced that they’ve been digitizing historical records about UFO’s for months.

These records can be found on the National Archives catalog and on the NARA website.

Among the records available to be researched by the public further include reports from “Project Blue Book”.

“Project Blue Book” was run by the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1969 and collected reports about sightings of UFO’s.

According to NARA records, 701 of the sightings reported to “Project Blue Book” are still unidentified.

While NARA allows a look back at records about potential UFO sightings that are sometimes decades old, there are still many reports about UFO sightings today.

In June, VNN reported on potential sightings of a UFO fighting with aerial fighter jets over Bad Axe, Michigan.

The National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) receives reports about UFO sightings from around the country and shares those reports with the public.

On July 26th, there was a congressional hearing about UFOs.

According to the NUFORC, this led to them receiving more reports about sightings than usual.

A list of all the recent reports was published on the NUFORC website.

The NUFORC, doesn’t just collect reports about sightings, but also images or drawings from the people reporting them.

These images are also shown on the NUFORC website.

When it comes to where the most UFO sightings are reported from, Studyfinds.org says that California, followed by Florida are the top two states in the U.S. for reported sightings.
