(TULSA, Okla.) Tulsa Police Officer Aurash Zarkeshan has been released from the hospital, Chief Wendell Franklin said. Franklin said Zarkeshan left the hospital on Wednesday to begin neurorehabilitation at an out of state facility. “He has a long road ahead, but nothing is insurmountable and he, along with his family are fighters and remain hopeful,” Franklin said. “Continued prayers!” Zarkeshan was one of two officers shot by a suspect last month. The other officer, Sergeant Craig Johnson, later died. David Anthony Ware was arrested for shooting the officers. Matt Hall was accused of picking Ware up from the crime scene and also arrested. Zarkeshan joined the Tulsa Police Department in 2019. He had been out on patrol on his own for less than six weeks.
